Editor's note
This prospective observational study reinforces trial findings by showing tirzepatide's reported effects on weight and cardiometabolic markers hold up in routine clinical practice. The single-arm real-world design and modest sample size mean it complements rather than replaces randomized evidence.
Plain-language abstract
In a 6-month real-world study of 107 adults with obesity, tirzepatide was associated with an average weight reduction of about 17%, alongside improvements in blood sugar and lipid profiles. Most participants achieved at least 5% weight loss, even at maintenance doses below the approved maximum.
