Twenty-five Japanese adults with type 2 diabetes starting oral semaglutide were followed for three months with food-frequency questionnaires, bioelectrical impedance body composition, and grip strength testing. HbA1c, body weight, and percent body fat all fell while percent muscle mass rose and grip strength held steady. Total energy intake dropped without shifting the balance of carbohydrate, fat, and protein, with the largest reductions in fats and oils, seasonings, sweets, and snacks. Daily salt intake fell from 8.9 to 7.0 grams.
